Hersey’s House
Of Hope
Understanding the fundamental needs of individuals, we go beyond shelter. Hersey’s House of Hope ensures that no woman goes hungry or without appropriate clothing. Our food pantry is stocked with non-perishable items, fresh produce, and essentials. Additionally, our clothing closet offers a dignified way for women to select clothing and personal care items according to their preferences.

Our Story
How We Got Started
Our mission started with the simple act of providing missionary services as a chaplin in our local county jail. Seeing these women and hearing about their stories and the struggles they had faced touched me deeply. With every visit, I began to learn more not only about what they had faced but of their fears for the future. During one such visit, a young ladies fears about what she faced when she was released changed everything. This young lady knew that she had to return home because she had no place else to go but feared that she wouldn’t be able to stay clean with her parents continuing to shoot up in front of her. That’s when I turned to God for guideance on how to help beyond these concrete walls and Hersey’s House of Hope began it’s mission.
Where We Are Now
Today we have a home that provides shelter and security to 5 women transiting from the lowest point in their lives to a place of independence, self-sufficiency, and a better life. We have fostered connections with Community Mental Health and Michigan Works! to further insure their success. In order to provide these services we now also have a store where donated items are purchased through the generous donations of our patrons and through funds raised by our weekly Silent Auction. Today, through God’s grace, we are able to provide help to many more people than we would have dreamed possible.
